One of the rarest versions of the Lexus LFA, a 2012 Nürburgring Package car with just 72 miles on it, was offered for private sale this summer with expectations that it could approach $2 million.

The car is chassis 488, in Whitest White. It has a white and red interior and graphite BBS forged wheels, and it is one of only 64 LFAs built with the Nürburgring Package and one of 25 of those sold new in the United States. It was listed through Broad Arrow’s private sales arm rather than at auction, so there was no public bidding, and it was displayed at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in August.

Carscoops reported that the original window sticker shows more than $522,000. That total includes $70,000 for the Nürburgring Package and a $70,500 charge for the car’s serial plate number, 488. Carscoops said the car could challenge the $2 million mark, pointing to an orange US-market Nürburgring Package LFA with roughly twice the mileage that sold for around $1.9 million in 2023. Carscoops didn’t report an asking price, and we couldn’t find a reported sale price.

The Nürburgring Package raised the output of the LFA’s 4.8-liter V10, which revs to 9,000 rpm, to 563 horsepower. It also brought quicker gearshifts, revised suspension, extra carbon fiber aerodynamic parts including a fixed rear wing, and a lighter overall package. A Nürburgring Package LFA lapped the Nordschleife in 7 minutes 14.64 seconds, a production car record that stood for several years.

Lexus built 500 LFAs in all, from late 2010 to late 2012, according to EV Central. The name has since returned on the battery-electric LFA Concept, which Lexus revealed in December 2025 and drove up the Goodwood hill in July.

The Toyota Report Take

A car that cost about half a million dollars new is now being talked about at four times that, which says a lot about how the LFA’s reputation has grown since Lexus stopped building it. A near-zero-mile Ring Package car is about as good as LFA ownership gets, though it’s a shame that one of the best-sounding cars Toyota ever built has spent 14 years barely being driven.
