The 2026 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is the only version of the truck that can be ordered in Wave Maker, a new paint color reserved for the off-road flagship.

Wave Maker trucks were scheduled to reach dealers in March 2026, a few months after the rest of the 2026 lineup was due in showrooms over the winter. The other new color for 2026 is Heritage Blue, which replaces Blue Crush Metallic and is offered on a range of other trims, so the TRD Pro gets a shade of its own while everyone else gets the new blue.

Toyota’s 2026 Tacoma release names Wave Maker as "exclusive to the TRD Pro" but doesn’t describe the color beyond its name. It joins a palette of Mudbath, Heritage Blue, Underground, Celestial Silver Metallic, Black, Ice Cap and Bronze Oxide, plus premium Supersonic Red and Wind Chill Pearl, and the TRD Pro is also available with two-tone paint.

The hardware under the paint carries over. Every TRD Pro uses the i-FORCE MAX hybrid, rated at 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, and rides on TRD-tuned FOX QS3 three-way adjustable shocks with rear piggyback reservoirs and external FOX IFP rear bump stops. It also gets the IsoDynamic Performance Front Seats, which use an air-over-oil shock system to steady the occupants’ heads and necks on rough ground, in Black or Cockpit Red SofTex with camouflage inserts. The rest of the kit includes a TRD performance air intake, 33-inch Goodyear tires on black 18-inch wheels, a 20-inch LED light bar in the heritage "TOYOTA" grille, RIGID fog lamps, an ARB steel rear bumper, a dual-tip exhaust and a standard Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism.

Toyota’s release gives only the Tacoma’s $32,145 starting price, and outlets have published differing figures for the TRD Pro. Carscoops lists the 2026 TRD Pro Double Cab 4×4 at $64,350, a $215 increase, with the Trailhunter at $63,350, both before a $1,595 destination charge. On that list the TRD Pro remains the most expensive Tacoma.

The rest of the 2026 lineup gets small changes. The TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport and TRD PreRunner now wear a black front logo, the TRD Off-Road i-FORCE Premium Package adds 18-inch TRD wheels with 32-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires, and a tow hitch is now standard on SR XtraCab models.

The Toyota Report Take

An exclusive color is the cheapest way to keep a halo truck feeling special between real updates, and the TRD Pro has needed it, because the Trailhunter now sits only about $1,000 below it with a hybrid, big tires and serious off-road hardware of its own. Wave Maker won’t change how the TRD Pro drives, but it gives buyers a way to show they paid for the top truck, and at more than $64,000 that matters to the people writing the check.
