Lexus gave Japan a Final Edition of every RC it sold there, hybrid included, when the coupe bowed out in 2025, while American buyers got only a farewell V8 RC F.

Japan’s lineup covered the RC 300, the RC 300h hybrid, the RC 350 and the RC F, and all four went on sale in January 2025 as Lexus confirmed that RC production would end that November. The Japanese RC F Final Edition was capped at 200 cars. In the United States, the regular RC 300 and RC 350 carried on for 2025 with only minor changes, and the RC F was sold solely as a Final Edition.

Motor1 reported that the Japanese RC 300, RC 300h and RC 350 Final Editions share 19-inch Enkei wheels with red brake calipers, black power-folding mirrors, carbon fiber trim and suede accents inside a Black and Flare Red cabin. They also offer Sonic Iridium paint alongside eight regular colors. The Japanese RC F version adds a special badge on the engine cover of its 5.0-liter V8, 19-inch BBS forged wheels, red calipers and a standard carbon fiber front spoiler, rear diffuser, roof and retractable wing.

Prices in Japan started at 6,660,000 yen for the RC 300, about $42,687 at the exchange rate Motor1 used, and topped out at 13,600,000 yen, about $87,169, for the RC F. The American RC F Final Edition costs $94,000 delivered, according to Kelley Blue Book, and Lexus didn’t announce a production limit for it.

The American car is still well equipped. Lexus Enthusiast listed a carbon fiber Final Edition emblem carrying each car’s production number, Mark Levinson audio, BBS forged wheels and Brembo brakes. What the US didn’t get was any farewell trim on the cheaper coupes, which only received red calipers in place of orange on rear-drive F Sport models, nor any hybrid RC at all.

Motor1 counted about 79,000 regular RCs and about 12,000 RC Fs sold since the coupe launched in late 2014. Lexus hasn’t said whether the 200 Japanese RC F Final Editions sold out.

The Toyota Report Take

Japan’s approach made more sense. Plenty of RC owners never wanted a $94,000 V8, and a Sonic Iridium RC 350 with Enkei wheels and the red interior would have been an affordable way to buy the last of a model that Lexus may not directly replace. Leaving the US with only the RC F version was a missed chance to say goodbye to the whole RC line rather than just its most expensive version.
