Toyota is recalling select 2024-2025 Toyota Tundra and 2024-2025 Toyota Tundra Hybrid models over a rearview camera image that may not display.

The defect: the rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

The hazards: a rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Components: back over prevention software

Affected vehicles: 2024-2025 Toyota Tundra and 2024-2025 Toyota Tundra Hybrid

Number of vehicles affected: 161,268

The fix: dealers will update the parking assist ECU software, free of charge.
