In May 2026, Toyota began recalling select 2024 Toyota Tundra models over an engine that may fail.

The defect: debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause a main bearing to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.

The hazards: a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Components: engine and cooling hard parts internal

Affected vehicles: 2024 Toyota Tundra

Number of vehicles affected: 43,566

The fix: dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall numbers 24V381 and 25V767.
