Toyota is recalling select 2022-2025 Lexus NX, 2024-2026 Lexus TX and 2023-2026 Lexus RX models over a rearview camera image that may not display.

The defect: the rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

The hazards: a rearview image that does not display reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Components: back over prevention software

Affected vehicles: 2022-2025 Lexus NX, 2024-2026 Lexus TX and 2023-2026 Lexus RX

Number of vehicles affected: 144,200

The fix: dealers will update the rearview camera software or replace the rearview camera, as necessary, free of charge.
